The federal government is spending its way toward socialism. Socialism didn't work in the USSR and it isn't working in Cuba. We don't want it here. Government-run health care isn't working in Sweden, Britain, or Canada. We don't want it here.
Gradually phase out and ultimately privatize virtually all “entitlements” e.g. social security, Medicare, etc. Stop the slide toward Socialism before it is too late. End the Nanny State
FOREIGN POLICY
We should reduce foreign aid (welfare for nations)
End foreign intervention, including military aid. Trade with those nations.
Eliminate all trade barriers and tariffs. This will increase our prosperity and make the world a safer place. It will inspire many other nations to do the same. Avoid trade protectionism.
We support self rule and self reliance, low taxes, and the free market.
TAXES and CURRENCY
Eliminate estate taxes (that capital has already been taxed)
Eliminate capital gains tax (part of reportable gain is due to falling value of the dollar). This will stimulate investment, stimulate trade, increase productivity, and help to heal the capital markets.
Eliminate alternative minimum tax (now beyond original intent)
Reduce taxes on everyone, rich and poor, to a flat rate of 10% or less, and eliminate all tax breaks and loopholes. No more progressive taxation. This will stimulate the economy, encourage productivity, reduce bureaucracy, virtually eliminate tax cheats, reduce tax crime, cut the IRS in half, and save everyone a lot of time
We must stop the collapse of the U. S. dollar.
Phase out the Federal Reserve. Let interest rates float with the markets. Reestablish sound money.
CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT
We must return to the limited government of the U. S. CONSTITUTION and the Bill of Rights:
e.g. First Amendment: Freedom of Speech
Overturn McCain Feingold and all other unconstitutional legislation.
Second Amendment: Maintain the right to bear arms
Overturn all gun control laws that prevent honest citizens from purchasing, keeping, and bearing personal self-defense weapons and ammunition on their private property. The right to life means nothing if one is denied the ability to defend that life.
Tenth Amendment: Maintain States Rights
Uphold the Constitution. Uphold it with strict obedience. If you don't like it, then seek a super majority to change it.
Eliminate all of the Federal “alphabet” agencies unless they are specifically authorized by the Constitution
The Department of Energy, for example, was instituted in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. Now 32 years later the budget for this department is at $24.2 billion a year. The DOE has 16,000 federal employees and approximately 100,000 contract employees. Accomplishments?
The Department of Education and "No Child Left Behind". Accomplishments? Education is better left to the states and charter schools.
WE NEED TO REDUCE SPENDING
Our eleven trillion dollar debt approaches twelve trillion and is crushing us, our children, and our grandchildren. We have a "debt ceiling". Congress treats the ceiling like a rising elevator, not a ceiling. Stop raising the ceiling. Leave it alone and watch how it's violated. We need to cut spending enough to reduce the debt 2% per year, and not allow the debt to grow.
Sell all government owned property and government run entities that are not essential to national security or expressly authorized by the Constitution to the private sector. Apply the money to the national debt. The private sector will make far better use of land and other assets than the ever inefficient and wasteful government.
Make a Constitutional Amendment requiring a balanced federal budget (with an exception for real, and legally declared wars in which we are attacked by another nation). Stop borrowing. Living within our means will ensure the long-term survival of our nation. Living within our means will ensure a better world for our posterity.
We should not increase this debt by billions or trillions of dollars in bailouts.
We are spending $400,000,000 a day in Iraq. Cut back. We have military bases in 130 nations. Close 10%. Again, reduce foreign aid. Get our army out of Iraq and Afghanistan ASAP and return our forces from any foreign bases that are not necessary for national defense. Destroy any enemy that attacks us but end the “war on terror.” Terror is not an enemy; terror is a tactic.
Eliminate all subsidies including farm subsidies. This will force businesses to compete on a level playing field without special favor. It will allow those businesses that are making the best use of limited resources to prevail while at the same time allowing unprofitable businesses that are wasting limited resources to fail. Eliminating subsidies will allow prices for food, energy, and other things to stay low and go lower as a result of improved market efficiencies from competition.
Stop subsidizing ethanol. CAGW reports that it takes a gallon of fuel plus 1,700 gallons of water to produce a gallon of ethanol. Russia is giving its energy companies incentives. We increase taxes on ours. Stop increasing those taxes.
Eliminate all corporate tax breaks. This will force businesses to focus on serving consumers rather than soliciting Congress. Put an end to corporate welfare.
Eliminate the minimum wage. The minimum wage costs jobs and cripples business development. Eliminating it will create new jobs and new opportunities for those just entering the workforce.
Eliminate Sarbanes Oxley and hundreds of other value destroying regulations and pieces of bureaucratic legislation. Put the government back into the role of policing the market rather than crippling and trying to own and run the market.
Eliminate affirmative action. The government’s role is to provide a level playing field with an equal opportunity for all to participant. The government’s role is not to guarantee the outcome. Guaranteed opportunity for all; guaranteed outcome for none.
Make it a crime for Congress to pass “price gouging,” legislation, “windfall profits taxes” legislation, or any other arbitrary form of profit seizure. Let the market forces work so that citizens can enjoy the benefits of that most efficient of systems, capitalism. Don’t punish prosperity and more people will prosper.
Eliminate immigration incentives such as social security benefits, anchor babies, and free schooling.
